Senior Telecoms Network Designer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecoms Network Designer to join their fully remote team. This role is pivotal in architecting and designing robust, scalable, and efficient telecommunications networks that meet current and future business demands. You will lead the design process from conceptualization through to detailed implementation plans, collaborating with various engineering teams and stakeholders.

• Develop comprehensive network designs for various telecommunications services, including broadband, mobile, and enterprise solutions.
• Create detailed network diagrams, capacity plans, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for network builds and upgrades.
• Evaluate new technologies and vendor solutions, providing recommendations for integration into the existing network architecture.
• Collaborate with operations and deployment teams to ensure designs are practical and meet implementation requirements.
• Perform network performance analysis and optimization studies to improve efficiency and user experience.
• Mentor junior network designers and provide technical guidance throughout the design lifecycle.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications network design and architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of IP networking, DWDM, Ethernet, and wireless access technologies (e.g., 5G).
• Experience with network design tools and simulation software.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, essential for collaboration in a remote environment.
