Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Process Safety Engineer to contribute to their remote operations. This critical role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related risks within the Oil & Gas industry to ensure the highest levels of safety and environmental protection. You will conduct thorough risk analyses, develop safety procedures, and implement best practices, all while working from your home office.

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
• Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and procedures.
• Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety-related events.
• Review engineering designs and P&IDs for safety compliance and operability.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in process safety.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in process safety engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of HAZOP , LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for risk mitigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
