Civil Engineer - Road and Highway Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Civil Engineer with a focus on Road and Highway Design to join their team in Nelspruit . You will be responsible for the planning, design, and project management of road infrastructure projects, contributing to the development and improvement of transportation networks.

• Design and plan various types of roads, including highways, rural roads, and urban streets.
• Develop detailed geometric designs, cross-sections, and earthwork calculations using Civil 3D .
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and traffic analyses for road projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with utility companies, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Provide construction supervision and support, ensuring quality and compliance with design standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in road and highway design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
• Knowledge of road design standards (e.g., Austroads, AASHTO) and South African regulations.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.
