About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their innovative team supporting operations primarily based in Cape Town , but with a fully remote work arrangement. You will be instrumental in analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute significantly to production improvements without the need for on-site presence, leveraging digital tools and remote collaboration to drive results.
You will work closely with various engineering disciplines and production teams globally to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for optimization using data-driven methodologies.
- Design and implement new or improved manufacturing processes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for remote implementation.
- Utilize simulation software and statistical analysis to validate process changes and predict outcomes.
- Collaborate virtually with on-site teams, providing technical expertise and guidance on process improvements and troubleshooting.
- Stay abreast of new manufacturing technologies and methodologies, recommending their adoption where appropriate to enhance production capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing process design, analysis, and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Any Logic, Arena) and statistical analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment using digital communication tools.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and quality control principles.
