About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a focus on the automotive sector to join their team in Vereeniging . This hybrid role requires a blend of on‑site collaboration for hands‑on development and testing, coupled with remote flexibility for design and analysis tasks. You will play a key part in the design, development, and refinement of automotive components and systems, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
We are looking for an engineer with a passion for automotive technology and a drive for innovation, who can contribute to the development of next‑generation vehicles.
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications, such as powertrain, chassis, or thermal management systems.
- Conduct performance simulations and structural analysis using FEA and other relevant tools.
- Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Participate in prototype build and test activities, analyzing results and implementing design improvements.
- Ensure designs comply with automotive industry standards and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on automotive design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA , Solid Works ) and CAE tools for simulation.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and materials.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949).
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills suitable for a hybrid work environment.
