Senior Consultant - Integrated Commercial Contracts

Job Description
Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our business in the Netherlands.

Our Contract Services Team deliver Contract Development, Contract Management and Dispute Resolution Services across the region. With strong experience in a consultancy or contractor organization, you will have knowledge and demonstrate hands on experience of standard forms of contract, claims management, dispute avoidance and/or dispute resolution and within the infrastructure and built environment sectors. With a ‘can do’ attitude and contracts and financial acumen you will be driven, results oriented with the ability to provide professional advisory to our clients.

As a Senior Consultant, you will review contracts and risks, ensuring compliance and identifying solutions. Your curiosity and proactive approach will enable you to understand the critical parts of each project and ask the right questions to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

You can translate different contract-structures from a risk point of view, into the technical construction environment in infrastructure and real estate;

You have affinity with financial structures in relation to the contract and construction;

You have the curiosity to try to understand what is happening on a project and are able to get the right information and answers during meetings with stakeholders;

You are able to build a trustful relationship with the client;

Bring companies and teams together to ensure project progress while checking contract compliance;

Review contracts and assess risks;

Sound communication and analytical skills are required, as well as affinity with either legal or engineering and the motivation to ‘go the extra mile’ in understanding and supporting our clients and their project stakeholders;

You will be working on complex, multi-disciplinary Transportation Infrastructure, Energy & Natural Resources and Real Estate Projects that matter to society and which should play a role in the transformation to a more sustainable economy;

Your involvement will primarily be with projects in the Benelux region whilst we encourage your interest in any global project opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience in Infrastructure and Built Environment;

Confident in a client facing environment, with good presentational skills;

Commercial management experience on major projects;

Experience of UAV, DBFMO, NEC and/or FIDIC and other standard form contracts and the relevant processes and procedures;

Experience of performance forensics, whether from a quantum or delay background;

Application of methodical analytical skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery under a number of challenging scenarios;

Strong analytical and writing skills;

Travel occasionally as required by project needs;

Work independently and responsibly, demonstrating a high level of initiative;

Fluent  Dutch and English  language skills.
