Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK, providing water and wastewater infrastructure services alongside drainage design, SuDS and surface water management. Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally and include water companies, local authorities, highways / rail authorities, and developers.

It's'an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment in the water industry. Due to continued framework successes, we seek to recruit an experienced Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join our Wastewater Team in Edinburgh.

From enhancing our beautiful rivers and urban landscapes to building sustainable cities in the harshest environments – our Networks & Drainage Solutions (N&DS) team is at the forefront.

• Development of computer models to investigate water network issues and investment needs and generation of outline solutions.
• Analysis of data.
• Support development of reports and other project deliverables.
• Prepare (and adhere to) health and safety risk assessments.
• Support in the development of tender responses and fee estimates.
• Contributing towards technical innovation.

• Experience/awareness of urban drainage modelling within Info Works ICM (or CS), GIS packages such as ARC or Map Info and civil engineering would be advantageous but not essential as full on the job training will be provided where required.
• These roles will involve working on feasibility studies, using computer analysis typically to support flooding and environmental improvement projects, site visits and liaison with clients, contractors, stakeholders and other professional bodies. The output will typically be in short reports to outline the approach taken and findings from the investigation.

Desirable requirements

• Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
• Experience in Wastewater modelling and distribution networks.
• Building and calibrating network models.
• Using network models for planning, operational and solution development purposes.
• Experience with Info Works ICM (or CS) and other modelling software.
