About the role
The role will provide direction, support and guidance to our project teams on all aspects of hands-on environmental management, meeting legal and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement.
It will support site-based project design construction controls and mitigations, sustainability opportunities and deliver against client-led contractual requirements and BBPTD tactical aspects to achieve our strategic goals. A key part of the role will be engagement with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and environmental authorities
What you'll be doing- Completion, reviewing, updating of company environmental documentation, sustainability delivery and a variety environmental risks and opportunities.
- Producing/maintaining permitting and licensing requirements for specific projects.
- Support with Awards submission entries
- Fully interpret policy, regulation, and legislation across the portfolio
- Providing visible ES support across the portfolio.
- Supports one or more high-level/value/complex projects through feasibility to post construction with the backing of your E&S Team colleagues.
- Supports one or more standalone projects through feasibility to post construction.
- Ensure and report on environmental compliance.
- Regular site inspections, including those with client or regulatory representatives
- Identify and promote innovative solutions.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
- Professional Membership level of a relevant professional body (IEMA/CIEEM/CIWEM) or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience and competence.
- Good knowledge of environment management with the relevant experience working in a construction environment.
- Practical experience and sound knowledge of environmental statutory requirements, including environmental legislation, ecology mitigation, environmental licensing and consent applications and regulation.
- Oversee, develop and direct Graduate ES roles across your portfolio.
- Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome.
- Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skills.
