The OpportunityWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Istanbul office to contribute our Mechanical Team for local and international projects. You'll play a key role in shaping sustainable built environments, collaborating with a talented team and working with prestigious clients. Asa Mechanical Engineer At Arup, You Will
- Be involved in building services mechanical design activities, including HVAC, public health, and firefighting systems, across a broad range of building and project types.
- Work with several high-profile architects on a variety of prestigious projects in Türkiye and overseas.
- Prepare reports; including design reports, technical notes, and other project documentation.
- Develop your skills continuously, being responsible for preparing building services design documents within agreed timelines and to the highest quality standards.
- Design MEP systems for a wide range of building types and project requirements.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working on a variety of prestigious projects in Türkiye and overseas.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC design, building energy modelling, and sustainable building design.
- Knowledge and practical experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software such as Revit, Navisworks, Solibri, and MagiCAD.
- Experience performing energy analyses using advanced spreadsheets and building simulation software such as HAP, IES, eQUEST, and Energy Plus.
- Knowledge or experience with parametric design and programming languages such as C# or Python is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of software including MS Office, HAP, TRACE 700, AutoCAD, REVIT or similar mechanical calculation and design tools.
- Experience designing in accordance with local and major international codes and standards.
- A strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles, together with a willingness to adapt and develop skills across a wide range of project types.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is an advantage.
