About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and technically proficient Automotive Design Engineer to join their team in Paarl . This role focuses on conceptualizing, designing, and refining automotive components and systems, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functional excellence. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to translate innovative ideas into tangible automotive solutions. This hybrid position offers the chance to contribute to the evolution of vehicle design and functionality in the beautiful Western Cape .
Key Responsibilities- Develop innovative design concepts for automotive components and systems, considering ergonomics, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA).
- Conduct design reviews and present design proposals to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure design feasibility and integration.
- Research and integrate new materials, technologies, and design trends into automotive product development.
- Participate in prototyping and testing phases to validate design performance and make necessary modifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive design or product design, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software and design visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and materials.
- Excellent creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities, comfortable working in a hybrid setup.
