About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Process Engineer focused on water treatment solutions, offering a fully remote work arrangement. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting water and wastewater treatment processes for industrial clients. This role requires a deep understanding of water chemistry, separation technologies, and environmental regulations. You will work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to develop sustainable and cost-effective water management strategies, contributing to environmental protection from your remote base.
This position is critical for ensuring compliance and efficiency in water resource management for clients in the Upington region and beyond.
- Design and develop water and wastewater treatment processes, including purification and recycling systems.
- Optimize existing treatment facilities to improve efficiency, reduce chemical usage, and meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct process modeling and simulation for water treatment systems.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to clients and field teams.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international environmental regulations related to water discharge.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for client engagement in a virtual format.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and operating water or wastewater treatment plants.
- Strong knowledge of water chemistry, membrane technologies, filtration, and disinfection methods.
- Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and project management skills for effective remote collaboration.
