I am looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Electronic Hardware Engineer to join a specialist engineering business developing highly complex electronic systems.
Working within a focused engineering team, you will be involved across the full product development lifecycle, from requirements definition and electronic design through to development, testing, productionisation and through-life support.
The role would suit an engineer with strong electronic design fundamentals who is keen to broaden their experience across PCB design, firmware and FPGA development
.
- Schematic capture and analogue/digital hardware design
- Design and layout of multi-layer PCBs
- Electronic hardware testing and fault finding
- Firmware development
- FPGA design and development
- Development of test processes and equipment
- Problem investigation and testing
- Through-life support and obsolescence management
- Production of technical and design documentation
- Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
, ideally 2:1 or above - Demonstrable electronic design skills
- Strong technical and problem-solving ability
- Self-motivated with a genuine interest in electronic engineering
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team
FPGA / VHDL / Intel Quartus Prime / Altium Designer / Multi-Layer PCB Design / Analogue Circuit Design / Signal Conditioning / Filtering / Data Acquisition / Embedded C / C++ / Microcontrollers / SoC / Ethernet / RS232 / RS485 / SPI / I2C / DFT
Experience across the complete hardware lifecycle, including taking PCB designs through to production and developing test and validation systems, would also be advantageous.
Working ArrangementBased in Hampshire
, with some flexibility for home working. Regular onsite attendance will be required due to the hands‑on nature of electronic hardware development, testing and access to specialist equipment.
