About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Civil Engineer with a specialization in Structural Design to join their advanced remote team. This role involves tackling complex structural challenges across various sectors, including high-rise buildings, industrial facilities, and unique architectural projects. You will utilize state-of-the-art design tools and methodologies to ensure the integrity, safety, and efficiency of structural systems. As a fully remote engineer, you will collaborate with a global network of professionals, contributing your expertise from your home office.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced structural analysis and design for complex projects using sophisticated modeling techniques.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, standards (e.g., SANS), and best practices.
- Collaborate remotely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines.
- Review shop drawings, respond to requests for information (RFIs), and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Research and implement innovative materials and construction techniques to optimize structural performance and sustainability.
- Master's degree or PhD in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration is mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural design, with a portfolio showcasing complex projects.
- Expert proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP
2000, STAAD.Pro) and BIM tools (Revit Structure). - Deep understanding of material behavior, load dynamics, and seismic design principles.
