About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Aircraft Systems Technician specializing in Electrical systems to join their innovative team, supporting operations in the Soweto area and beyond. This position involves remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and providing technical support for the complex electrical and avionics systems on various aircraft. You will work closely with on-site maintenance crews, utilizing advanced remote diagnostic tools and communication platforms.
This is a unique opportunity for an expert electrical technician to leverage their skills in a fully remote capacity, contributing to the airworthiness and performance of aircraft fleets without the need for daily on-site presence.
- Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical and avionics systems using specialized software and remote access tools.
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to on-site maintenance teams via phone, video conferencing, and digital platforms.
- Analyze system performance data, fault codes, and diagnostic reports to identify root causes of electrical issues.
- Develop repair recommendations and detailed procedures for on-site technicians to follow.
- Document all remote diagnostic activities, findings, and support provided.
- Stay updated on new aircraft electrical systems, diagnostic technologies, and relevant regulations.
- Hold a relevant certification (e.g., FAA Airframe & Powerplant with Avionics endorsement, EASA Part 66) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Aircraft Electrical Technician or Avionics Technician.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex aircraft electrical systems, wiring, and related components.
- Experience with aircraft diagnostic software and remote support tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to effectively guide remote teams.
