About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Remote Civil Engineer with a specialization in Water Resources to join their fully remote team. This role is critical for the design and management of sustainable water and wastewater systems across various projects. You will leverage your expertise to develop innovative solutions for water scarcity, infrastructure resilience, and environmental protection, contributing significantly to public well-being and ecological sustainability.
As a remote team member, you will collaborate digitally with colleagues and clients, utilizing cutting-edge communication tools and working from your chosen location.
- Design, model, and analyze water distribution networks, stormwater management systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Conduct hydrological studies, environmental impact assessments, and feasibility analyses for water-related projects.
- Develop innovative solutions for water conservation, flood control, and drought management.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies using digital collaboration platforms.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in water resource engineering and sustainable practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional registration (e.g., PrEng) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in water resources engineering, including design and project management.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC-RAS) and GIS tools.
- Demonstrated experience in remote work environments, with strong self-discipline and communication skills.
- Knowledge of South African water legislation and standards.
