About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to optimize and innovate manufacturing processes at their facility in Rustenburg. This role is critical for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety. You will lead complex engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge solutions. This position offers a hybrid work model, blending essential on-site presence with the flexibility of remote work, allowing for impactful contributions to our manufacturing excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Lead process optimization projects, utilizing data analysis and engineering principles to identify and address bottlenecks.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence across the production floor.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff on process-related matters.
- Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of process deviations.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and operations teams to support new product introductions and process validation.
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in process simulation, modeling, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proven track record of leading successful process improvement initiatives and managing complex projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with automation and control systems in an industrial setting.
