About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role will focus on developing and implementing environmental management strategies for mining projects across various locations. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, conducting impact assessments, and advising on sustainable practices. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated environmental professional to leverage their expertise in a remote setting, contributing to responsible resource development and mitigating environmental impacts from anywhere in the world.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and advise on mitigation measures.
- Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) for mining operations.
- Monitor environmental performance, including water quality, air emissions, and land rehabilitation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on environmental best practices and sustainable mining techniques.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal teams on environmental matters.
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental management, specifically within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, EIA processes, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental monitoring programs.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a remote environment.
