Senior Civil Engineer - Water & Sanitation

Our client, a respected engineering firm with a focus on municipal infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Water and Sanitation systems, based remotely but serving projects in East London and the surrounding Eastern Cape . You will lead the design, planning, and implementation of essential water supply and wastewater treatment projects. This role requires a deep understanding of hydraulic engineering, water treatment technologies, and regulatory compliance.

You will manage project teams, liaise with municipal authorities, and ensure the delivery of sustainable and efficient water and sanitation solutions, contributing significantly to public health and environmental sustainability.

• Design and oversee the development of water supply networks, including distribution pipelines and storage facilities.
• Plan and manage the design of wastewater collection systems and treatment plants.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling for water and sewer systems to optimize performance and capacity.
• Prepare detailed design reports, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and municipal standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications effectively.

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in water and sanitation infrastructure design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Proficiency in relevant hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and design tools.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
