About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Mine Planning Engineer to join their organization on a fully remote basis. You will be responsible for designing and optimizing mine plans to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective resource extraction. This role involves utilizing advanced modeling software and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop short-term and long-term mine production schedules. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to contribute to major mining projects from a remote location, applying innovative planning techniques and driving operational success through meticulous planning and strategic foresight.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize mine plans and production schedules using specialized mine planning software.
- Conduct geological modeling and resource estimation to inform mine design.
- Perform economic evaluations of different mining scenarios and layouts.
- Ensure that mine plans comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with operations, geology, and survey teams to integrate plans and address site-specific challenges.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visualizations of mine plans for stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design, preferably in open-pit or underground operations.
- Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or similar.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and production constraints.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, especially in a remote setting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple planning projects concurrently.
