Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Drilling Engineer to join their fully remote team. This position is responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will develop detailed drilling programs, select appropriate equipment, and manage drilling performance while adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards. As a remote team member, you will have the autonomy to manage your workload and contribute to significant projects globally, collaborating with field teams and onshore support staff to achieve operational excellence.

• Develop comprehensive drilling plans and programs for onshore and offshore wells.
• Select appropriate drilling equipment, tools, and techniques to optimize performance and safety.
• Perform engineering calculations for well control, casing design, cementing, and directional drilling.
• Monitor drilling operations remotely, providing technical support and problem-solving expertise.
• Manage drilling budgets and ensure cost control throughout the drilling process.
• Conduct post-drilling analyses and recommend improvements for future operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in drilling engineering and operations.
• Proven experience in developing and executing drilling programs for various well types.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, HSE regulations, and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.
