About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Production Geologist to join their upstream operations team in Centurion, Gauteng . This position plays a crucial role in optimizing hydrocarbon production from existing fields by providing geological insights and supporting reservoir management strategies. You will be responsible for analyzing production data, monitoring reservoir performance, and identifying opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and infill drilling.
This role offers the chance to work within a forward-thinking Oil & Gas company focused on maximizing asset value and employing advanced geological technologies.
- Monitor and analyze production data, well performance, and reservoir behavior.
- Develop and update 3D geological models to reflect reservoir performance and structure.
- Identify potential drilling targets and opportunities for infill drilling and enhanced oil recovery projects.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and production engineers to optimize field development plans.
- Prepare geological reports and presentations for management and technical teams.
- Provide geological support for well planning, drilling, and completion operations in the Centurion operational hub.
- Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in production geology within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Geo Graphix) and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology relevant to hydrocarbon systems.
- Experience with well log interpretation , core analysis, and seismic data interpretation.
