About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with expertise in water and wastewater treatment plant design to join their team in Upington . You will be responsible for the design, specification, and project management of treatment facilities that are essential for public health and environmental protection. - Design civil components of water and wastewater treatment plants, including preliminary and final treatment processes.
- Develop process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Conduct hydraulic calculations and system modeling for water treatment processes.
- Prepare detailed design reports, construction drawings, and contract documents.
- Oversee construction phases, liaising with contractors and ensuring quality control.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and health regulations pertaining to water treatment.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water/Wastewater Treatment.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is advantageous.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and CAD design tools.
- Thorough understanding of water chemistry, treatment technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
