Process Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is searching for a skilled Process Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Mahikeng. This role is focused on optimizing mechanical processes within manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. You will analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement mechanical solutions to enhance productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial machinery, process control, and lean manufacturing principles, contributing to the industrial growth of the North West province through innovative engineering solutions.

• Analyze and optimize mechanical processes to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Design, implement, and test mechanical modifications or new systems to support process improvements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues impacting process performance and develop corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless process integration.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to mechanical process efficiency and implement data-driven improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering or mechanical design within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of process equipment, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
• Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a production environment in Mahikeng.
