About the Role
Our client, a key player in the Oil & Gas exploration sector , is seeking a skilled Geophysical Interpreter to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This role is central to identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reservoirs through the analysis of seismic data. You will work closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to integrate geophysical interpretations into subsurface models and exploration strategies.
This hybrid position offers the chance to contribute to significant exploration projects, utilizing advanced technologies and data analytics within a collaborative and innovative environment in the Eastern Cape.
- Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and strati graphic traps.
- Perform velocity analysis, attribute analysis, and seismic inversion techniques.
- Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information.
- Map subsurface horizons and faults, estimating hydrocarbon potential.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contribute geophysical insights to exploration and development decisions.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports and presentations on geophysical interpretations.
- Master's degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in seismic data interpretation for oil and gas exploration.
- Proficiency with industry-standard interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
- Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and attribute analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex geological concepts effectively.
