Water Resource Engineer - Municipal Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Resource Engineer to join their progressive team in Mossel Bay . This role is integral to the planning, design, and management of municipal water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management systems. You will contribute to ensuring sustainable water management practices and enhancing the infrastructure that serves the community. • Develop conceptual and detailed designs for water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment plants, pipelines, and pumping stations.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution networks and sewer systems to optimize performance and identify capacity issues.
• Prepare feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and technical reports related to water resource projects.
• Oversee the construction and commissioning of water and sanitation projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with water quality standards and environmental protection regulations.
• Provide technical expertise and support to municipal clients and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering;
  Master's degree with a specialization in water resources is preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a focus on municipal infrastructure.
• Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, Info Works) and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes, environmental regulations, and sustainable water management practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
