About the Role

Our client, a respected engineering consultancy, is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Bloemfontein . This role is vital for managing and optimizing water-related infrastructure across the Free State province, focusing on sustainable water supply, flood control, and wastewater management. You will be involved in critical projects that ensure water security and environmental protection for the region.

This hybrid role combines essential site and office collaboration in Bloemfontein with the flexibility of remote work.

• Undertake hydrological and hydraulic analysis for water resource management projects.
• Design and supervise the construction of water infrastructure, including dams, pipelines, canals, and treatment plants.
• Develop water balance models and management plans for river basins and catchments.
• Assess environmental impacts related to water resource development and implement mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and project proposals.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resources engineering and management.
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET).
• Strong understanding of water law, environmental regulations, and sustainable water practices in South Africa.
• Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
