Civil Engineer - Stormwater and Drainage Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer with specialized expertise in stormwater and drainage systems to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for designing and managing effective solutions to mitigate flood risks and manage water runoff in urban and rural environments. You will leverage your technical knowledge to develop innovative and sustainable drainage strategies, working on projects that protect communities and infrastructure from water-related hazards.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to significant environmental and infrastructure projects impacting the Gauteng region and beyond.

• Design and implement comprehensive stormwater management systems, including culverts, channels, detention basins, and infiltration systems.
• Conduct hydrological analysis, flood modeling, and risk assessments to inform design decisions.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports for stormwater infrastructure projects.
• Oversee the construction and maintenance phases of drainage projects, ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other engineering disciplines to integrate drainage solutions effectively.
• Utilize advanced hydraulic modeling software for analyzing flow dynamics and optimizing system performance.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering , with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng. or Candidate Engineer with demonstrated experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience focused on the design and implementation of stormwater and drainage systems .
• Expertise in hydrological modeling, hydraulic design, and flood risk assessment.
• Proficiency in relevant software such as HEC-RAS, Info Works ICM, or similar hydraulic modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations pertaining to water runoff and drainage.
