About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer with a specialization in geotechnical engineering to join their entirely remote workforce. This position is crucial for assessing ground conditions, designing foundations, and ensuring the stability of various construction projects, from buildings to infrastructure. You will interpret subsurface investigations, develop geotechnical reports, and provide expert recommendations to guide project development. This is a unique opportunity for a geotechnical specialist to contribute their expertise to impactful projects nationwide while enjoying the autonomy and flexibility of a remote role, collaborating with teams through advanced digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations, including soil borings and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to determine engineering properties and behavior.
- Design foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, and earth structures based on site conditions.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports and provide recommendations for construction.
- Collaborate virtually with project managers, structural engineers, and construction teams to address geotechnical challenges.
- Perform slope stability analysis and recommend mitigation strategies for potential hazards.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering and site characterization.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Geo Studio, Plaxis, or similar.
- Experience in remote project coordination and virtual team collaboration.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological data.
