Chemical Engineer

Your role is to design and run the fluid systems that condition and deliver particle-loaded and polymer process fluids to a deposition head. Formulation belongs to the materials engineers; how those fluids behave belongs to you.

That is supply and recirculation hardware, pressure budgeting and closed-loop meniscus control, the behavior of a suspension in service, and the operating modes, fill through flush, that wrap around all of it.

You will own the next generation of that system, from piping and instrumentation diagrams to hardware validated on a bench rig, and carry it from the first machine out to a line.

We are looking for chemical and process engineers with experience and interest in fluid systems and precision low-pressure control, suspensions and rheology in service, degassing and filtration, and scale-up to a line.

• Fluid delivery and recirculation design: piping and instrumentation diagrams, tanks, pumps, dampers, regulators, valves
• Wetted path and elastomer compatibility behind every component selection
• Meniscus and back-pressure control: regulated vacuum reference, transducers, closed-loop setpoint and ripple, capillary window
• Pressure budgeting: laminar line loss, tube sizing, static head, ripple attenuation, pump trade-offs
• Air and particulate management: degassing, dissolved gas, in-line filtration, bubble ingestion, nozzle health
• Particle-loaded fluids in service: sedimentation, agitation, turnover and residence time, shear and agglomeration
• Fluid properties at operating conditions: viscosity, surface tension, density, particle size, and jettability
• Operating modes and scale-up: fill, prime, purge and flush choreography, bench validation, waste handling

• A degree in chemical, process or mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on design or operation of fluid handling systems: pumps, regulators, valves, tubing and instrumentation
• Fluid mechanics used for real: pressure budgets, laminar line loss, mixing, turnover and residence time
• Fluent with viscosity, surface tension, density and particle size measurement, and able to explain a result
• The judgment to take a bubble, a leak or a settled line back to its cause
• Ready to take a system from a diagram to installed hardware and write the operating procedures
• Bonus: precision dispensing, drop-on-demand deposition, microfluidics, or suspensions and colloid handling at working scale

$100k to $250k base salary, plus equity
