About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative and experienced Automotive Performance Engineer to join their research and development team. This position, available remotely to candidates in Kimberley , focuses on optimizing vehicle performance through advanced engineering techniques. You will be involved in designing, testing, and refining engine and chassis systems to enhance power, efficiency, and handling. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, thermodynamics, and modern engine technologies, contributing to the development of high-performance automotive solutions from a remote location.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop performance-oriented engine and chassis components and systems.
- Conduct rigorous testing of prototypes and production vehicles, analyzing performance data.
- Utilize simulation software (e.g., CFD, FEA) to model and optimize component and system performance.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure performance targets are met within design constraints.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues identified during testing phases.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive performance technology and methodologies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive performance engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience with engine tuning, powertrain optimization, and vehicle dynamics.
- Proficiency in using simulation and modeling software for automotive applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
