Civil Engineer - Structural Design; Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Civil Engineer with a strong background in Structural Design to join their fully remote engineering team. This role will support a variety of building and infrastructure projects across South Africa, with potential projects in or near Polokwane . You will be responsible for the structural integrity analysis and design of various components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.

Working remotely, you will collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams to deliver robust and innovative structural solutions. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute impactful designs from a flexible, home-based work environment.

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure using advanced engineering principles.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications compliant with South African National Standards (SANS).
• Collaborate closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient designs.
• Review construction submittals and respond to requests for information (RFIs) from site teams.
• Conduct site visits as necessary to assess existing conditions or verify construction progress, coordinated with project timelines.
• Ensure all structural designs meet safety codes, building regulations, and project requirements, considering local context such as Limpopo province.

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in structural design and analysis.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP
  2000, or STAAD.Pro.
• Experience with concrete, steel, and masonry design codes.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for effective remote collaboration with stakeholders across South Africa.
