Environmental Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Civil Engineer for a fully remote position, dedicated to integrating sustainable practices into infrastructure development. This role involves assessing environmental impacts, designing remediation solutions, and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation across a variety of projects. You will work closely with project managers and regulatory bodies to develop environmentally sound engineering solutions. • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and prepare associated reports.
• Design and implement solutions for waste management, pollution control, and land rehabilitation.
• Ensure all projects comply with national and local environmental regulations and standards.
• Develop strategies for sustainable water and energy use in infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into project design and execution.
• Monitor environmental performance during construction and operation phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an Environmental focus, or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental engineering or related fields.
• In-depth knowledge of South African environmental legislation and permitting processes.
• Experience with environmental modeling and GIS software.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
