About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their progressive, remote-first mining operation. This role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant underground environmental conditions. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of mine ventilation systems, crucial for worker health and operational productivity, all managed remotely. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on mine safety and performance without the need for on-site presence, supported by advanced simulation tools and a collaborative virtual environment.
You will work closely with mine planning and operations teams to deliver innovative ventilation solutions.
- Design and optimize underground mine ventilation networks, considering airflow, temperature, and air quality.
- Conduct ventilation surveys, simulations, and performance analyses using specialized software.
- Develop and implement strategies for dust control, gas management, and thermal comfort.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation plans into overall mine design.
- Troubleshoot ventilation-related issues and propose effective solutions in a remote capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground hard rock mining.
- Proficiency with mine ventilation simulation software (e.g., Ventsim, Vent Graph).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
