Senior Mechanical Engineer

Work Flexibility:
Hybrid Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer. Work Arrangement:
Hybrid, with up to 2 days onsite per week.

At Stryker, this role plays a key part in advancing the development of medical device products by applying deep mechanical engineering expertise to complex product and subsystem design challenges.

As a senior technical contributor, you will lead defined technical work streams, help translate user and business needs into engineering solutions, and support the delivery of high-quality products that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

• Lead the research, design, development, modification, evaluation, and improvement of mechanical and electro-mechanical modules, assemblies, and subsystems.
• Translate user needs into design inputs and specifications and independently develop complex system-level designs.
• Plan, execute, and guide advanced prototyping, testing, design verification, and technical problem-solving activities.
• Drive resolution of complex product design issues and support continuous product and process improvements.
• Explore emerging technologies and contribute to innovation activities, including invention disclosures, patents, and trade secrets.
• Develop and refine engineering documentation, including Design History File content and technical design records, in accordance with applicable medical device requirements.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management teams to support successful product development and commercialisation.
• Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to the development of procedures, processes, systems, and technical standards.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent 6+ years of industry experience
• Experience designing and developing complex mechanical and/or electro-mechanical assemblies
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to product development
• Experience creating engineering drawings, 3D models, and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, processing methods, and technologies used in complex product development
• Experience translating user needs into engineering requirements and product designs
• Experience working within regulated medical device product development environments
• Ability to communicate technical information and engineering plans to cross-functional stakeholders

• Experience using Solid Works
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T applications and design optimisation techniques
• Experience using Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to support product design and development
• Understanding of clinical procedures and their application to product development activities

Pay Ranges:
United Kingdom: £49,300 - £82,100 GBP Annual

The compensation information posted for this role may be presented as a salary range or a fixed amount depending on the role. Travel Percentage: 10%
