Geothermal Energy Project Manager

About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive and results-oriented Geothermal Energy Project Manager to lead key initiatives from their office in Durban. This role is central to developing and executing geothermal energy projects, managing all phases from feasibility studies through to operational handover. You will be responsible for coordinating diverse teams, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating project risks. • Oversee the entire lifecycle of geothermal energy projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation effectively.
• Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams, including geologists, engineers, and contractors.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and investors.

• Master's degree in Engineering (Geological, Mechanical, or Chemical), Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management within the energy sector, with a specific focus on geothermal energy development.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale energy projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of geothermal resource assessment, power plant design, and project finance.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and methodologies.
