Telecommunications Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Installation Engineer to join their team based in Bloemfontein . This hybrid role involves both on-site installations and remote support, focusing on the deployment and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of communication networks, working on-site for critical installations and remotely for configuration management and troubleshooting.

This is a challenging position for an engineer who enjoys a mix of hands-on work and technical problem-solving, contributing to vital communication services.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment and systems at client locations.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on existing telecommunications infrastructure.
• Interpret network diagrams and technical specifications to ensure accurate installations.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project scope and timelines.
• Document all installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities thoroughly.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Proven experience in telecommunications installation and network engineering.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless communication systems.
• Proficiency in network diagnostic tools and monitoring software.
• Ability to travel to client sites and work effectively in a hybrid remote/on-site model.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
