About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned and visionary Chief Mining Engineer to lead their strategic development and operational oversight on a fully remote basis, with projects potentially involving operations near Port Elizabeth . This senior position requires extensive experience in mine planning, operational management, and a deep understanding of diverse mining methods. You will be instrumental in driving innovation, optimizing production, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance across multiple sites.

- Provide expert technical guidance and strategic direction for all mining operations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of long-term mine plans and production schedules.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of mining engineers and technical specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to achieve strategic objectives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mining operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in open-pit and/or underground mining project management.
- In-depth knowledge of mining software, simulation tools, and automation technologies.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams effectively in a remote setting.
