About the Role
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Transportation Engineer to join their fully remote team, focusing on traffic engineering and transportation planning. This role is essential for optimizing mobility and improving transportation networks within the Eastern Cape and beyond. You will analyze traffic patterns, design intelligent transportation systems, and contribute to the strategic planning of future transport infrastructure. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who excels in a remote work setting, possesses strong analytical skills, and is passionate about creating efficient and sustainable transportation solutions for diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze traffic data, conduct traffic impact studies, and develop traffic management plans.
- Design road infrastructure, including intersections, interchanges, and signalization systems.
- Develop transportation master plans and feasibility studies for new developments.
- Utilize traffic simulation software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION) for modeling and analysis.
- Advise on public transport planning, non-motorized transport, and sustainable mobility initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering and planning.
- Proficiency in traffic analysis and modeling software.
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and South African road standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a remote environment.
