Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and technically proficient Project Engineer to manage and execute construction projects remotely, serving clients across Gauteng and beyond. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with site teams, consultants, and stakeholders from a distance. You will play a key part in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and budgetary goals.

• Oversee all phases of construction projects, from initial planning and design through to execution and close-out.
• Coordinate with site-based teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to project plans.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project objectives.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and timely problem resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on active construction sites.
• Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, for accuracy and completeness.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).
• Professional registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project engineering or management.
• Proven ability to manage projects remotely and communicate effectively with on-site personnel.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project planning, and risk management.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
