About the Role
Our client, a pioneer in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team based remotely, supporting projects across the Eastern Cape and beyond. This role focuses on the mechanical design, analysis, and integration of renewable energy systems, such as wind turbines and solar power plants. You will contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions, working on complex engineering challenges from conceptualization through to operational deployment.

- Design and analyze mechanical components and systems for renewable energy installations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for mechanical systems, including structural, electrical, and power transmission components.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and construction partners, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems, providing technical support remotely.
- Research and implement new technologies and design improvements to enhance system efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools.
- Understanding of energy systems, thermodynamics, and material science.
- Familiarity with project management principles and remote collaboration tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
