About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Centurion . This role is vital for assessing ground conditions and providing essential data for the design and construction of a wide range of projects, from buildings to infrastructure. You will conduct detailed site investigations, analyze soil and rock properties, and develop foundation recommendations. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer passionate about soil mechanics and its practical application in ensuring the stability and safety of structures, contributing to critical decision-making processes for development in the Centurion area.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock samples to determine their physical and mechanical properties.
- Interpret geotechnical data and prepare comprehensive investigation reports.
- Provide recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks.
- Assess risks associated with ground conditions and propose mitigation measures.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and construction teams to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical site investigations and analysis.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Geo Studio, Plaxis) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Experience with field testing methods and laboratory soil testing procedures.
- Ability to produce clear and concise technical reports.
