Project Engineer - Municipal Infrastructure

Our client seeks a proactive and organized Project Engineer to manage and oversee municipal infrastructure projects in the Pretoria area. This role is critical for the successful delivery of public works, including water reticulation, sanitation systems, and road upgrades. You will be responsible for project planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Working remotely allows for a broad reach across Gauteng, supporting municipal partners with expertise and efficient project management. This is an ideal position for an engineer who thrives on delivering essential public services and managing complex projects effectively.

• Manage the full lifecycle of municipal infrastructure projects, from planning and design to construction and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure project milestones are achieved and quality standards are met.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, documenting project status and addressing any issues.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant municipal bylaws, environmental regulations, and engineering standards.
• Liaise with municipal officials, community stakeholders, and other relevant parties to facilitate project success.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on municipal infrastructure.
• Proven track record of successfully managing public sector projects.
• Strong understanding of water, sanitation, and road construction principles.
• Excellent project management skills, including proficiency in scheduling software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote setting.
