Mechanical Engineer - Product Development
Our client seeks a dynamic Mechanical Engineer specializing in Product Development to join their innovative team in Mossel Bay
. This role involves hands-on design, analysis, and testing of new mechanical products and systems, from ideation through to market launch. You will collaborate closely with R&D, marketing, and manufacturing teams to bring novel solutions to life. - Design and develop new mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD modeling software.
- Conduct engineering analysis, including tolerance analysis and basic stress calculations, to ensure design integrity.
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation for production.
- Collaborate with prototyping teams to build and test new product designs, iterating based on results.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for mass production.
- Document design processes, test results, and design changes thoroughly.
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience in product development or mechanical design roles.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) and basic understanding of engineering simulation tools.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes relevant to product design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork abilities
