About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to strengthen their commitment to operational excellence and safety across their global facilities. This role is crucial for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management systems within the Oil & Gas industry . You will work entirely remotely, conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Develop and deliver training on process safety principles and procedures to relevant personnel.
Review engineering designs and management of change (MOC) processes to ensure inherent safety is maintained.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for process safety and report on safety performance to management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, with a strong background in the Oil & Gas sector.
In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and PSM elements.
Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations related to process safety.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels in a remote environment.
