About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Remote Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join their dispersed engineering team. This position is crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of the company's extensive pipeline network, operating entirely from a remote setup. You will focus on developing and implementing integrity management programs, analyzing inspection data, and recommending preventative maintenance strategies to mitigate risks.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to operational excellence in the Oil & Gas industry without the need for physical office presence, ideal for professionals in Durban or elsewhere who value remote work flexibility.
- Develop and execute comprehensive pipeline integrity management plans in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Analyze data from in-line inspection tools (ILI), hydrostatic testing, and corrosion monitoring systems.
- Assess the integrity of pipelines, identifying potential threats such as corrosion, cracking, and third-party interference.
- Recommend appropriate repair and mitigation strategies, and oversee their implementation.
- Manage and maintain the integrity database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop preventive maintenance schedules to ensure long‑term pipeline safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in pipeline integrity management within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of NDT methods, corrosion mechanisms, and relevant industry codes (e.g., ASME B31.8, API 1160).
- Experience with pipeline integrity software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote environment.
