Senior Civil Engineer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly accomplished Senior Civil Engineer to join their predominantly remote team, serving projects across South Africa with a focus on operations in Cape Town. This role is designed for an expert who can independently manage complex civil infrastructure projects from initial concept through to final delivery, utilizing advanced digital tools and collaborative platforms. You will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions for water management, transportation, and urban development, working from the comfort of your home office.

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and detailed engineering of major civil infrastructure projects, including transportation networks, water supply systems, and site development.
• Develop and review complex technical documentation, including design reports, drawings, specifications, and tender documents, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Perform advanced technical analysis, such as hydraulic modeling, structural analysis, and traffic simulations, to optimize designs.
• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule effectively, coordinating with remote teams, clients, and regulatory bodies via virtual communication channels.
• Provide expert technical support and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing in a remote setting.
• Conduct virtual site inspections and progress monitoring, ensuring quality control and adherence to project plans.

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA or eligibility for immediate registration.
• Over 10 years of comprehensive experience in civil engineering design, project management, and site supervision.
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced civil engineering software (e.g., Civil 3D, Bentley systems, HEC-RAS) and project management platforms.
• Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale infrastructure projects remotely and deliver exceptional results.
• Excellent virtual communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with a strong commitment to client satisfaction.
