Senior Reservoir Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly analytical and experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their esteemed team in Rustenburg. This position plays a crucial role in evaluating and managing hydrocarbon reserves, optimizing production, and ensuring the long-term economic viability of oil and gas assets. You will utilize advanced modeling techniques and geological data to develop effective reservoir management strategies. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge and a forward-thinking approach to maximizing resource recovery in the dynamic oil and gas industry.

• Conduct reservoir characterization studies using geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
• Develop and maintain detailed reservoir simulation models to predict future performance.
• Analyze production data and implement strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
• Estimate hydrocarbon reserves and resources, preparing reports for management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production engineers on field development plans.
• Evaluate exploration opportunities and provide technical input for new ventures.

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas sector.
• Expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of petrophysics, sedimentology, and reservoir geomechanics.
• Proven ability to assess and manage reservoir uncertainty and risk.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
