About the Role
Our client is searching for a seasoned and visionary Lead Chemical Engineer to spearhead key projects and provide technical leadership within their Richards Bay facility. This role requires a strategic thinker who can guide a team of engineers in developing and implementing innovative chemical processes that meet stringent performance and sustainability targets. The hybrid work model allows for essential on-site collaboration while offering flexibility for remote work.
You will be instrumental in driving technological advancements and ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in our client's operations. This is a critical position for shaping the future of our chemical engineering endeavors.
- Lead the design, development, and execution of complex chemical engineering projects.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to a team of chemical engineers and technicians.
- Oversee process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure robust safety protocols are implemented.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing new technologies and methodologies.
- Manage project budgets and timelines effectively, ensuring successful project completion.
- Master's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical process engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale chemical engineering projects.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical process design, simulation, and optimization techniques.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
