About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and results-oriented Production Engineer to support their upstream operations in the Centurion area. This role is vital for optimizing daily production, ensuring the integrity of production facilities, and troubleshooting operational issues to maximize output and minimize downtime. You will collaborate closely with reservoir engineers, geologists, and field operations teams to achieve production targets and implement best practices.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of energy extraction in a key economic region.
- Monitor daily production performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Troubleshoot production-related problems, including equipment failures, wellbore issues, and process inefficiencies.
- Implement artificial lift systems and water/gas injection strategies to enhance recovery.
- Oversee the maintenance and integrity of production facilities, pipelines, and processing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations related to production operations.
- Prepare production forecasts, operational reports, and cost analyses for management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Production Engineering role within the upstream oil and gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of production operations, artificial lift methods, and well test analysis.
- Familiarity with production facility design, operation, and maintenance.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex operational challenges.
- Experience in the Gauteng or surrounding provinces' energy sector is desirable.
