Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Foundations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established, fully remote team, specializing in foundation design for major infrastructure and building projects. You will provide expert geotechnical advice, conduct complex analyses, and lead the development of foundation solutions that ensure structural stability and safety. Operating remotely, you will engage with a diverse clientele and collaborate closely with project teams across the nation.

• Lead the geotechnical investigation and analysis for complex foundation designs, including deep and shallow foundations.
• Develop detailed foundation design reports, specifications, and recommendations for clients.
• Oversee and interpret results from site investigations, including drilling, CPT, and laboratory testing.
• Provide expert technical guidance on slope stability , earth retention systems, and ground improvement techniques.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and architects remotely to ensure optimal integration of geotechnical considerations.
• Mentor and guide junior geotechnical engineers and technicians within the remote team structure.

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering consulting.
• Advanced knowledge and practical application of geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS 2D/3D, Geo Studio Suite).
• Proven track record in designing foundations for high-rise buildings, bridges, or industrial facilities.
• Deep understanding of South African soil mechanics and foundation engineering principles.
• Exceptional report writing, presentation, and client liaison skills.
